Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The drill press is moderately well made and seems to work work smoothly so far. The cast base is too flimsy and does not provide solid enough support even when bolted down. However this doesn't matter to me because I'm mounting the post directly to my bench top. The belt tensioning does not work well
