Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The drill press is used primarily for woodworking.
The runout is .003 and is very smooth when running. The 4&7/8 inch spindle travel is a real plus when drilling dowel holes into the ends of long shelves. I would recommend this press to anyone wishing to upgrade or wanting to buy quality equipment for his shop.
