[...]. The manual was very poorly written with difficult to interpret pictures. Perhaps they assume you are an old hand at this--bad mistake. [...]. Finely just resorted to Yankee ingenuity to get the job done. The lower guide bearing are not adjustible to full width of the1/2 inch blade and the only fix is to add another bearing. Because of the frame construction you cannot do coplanar testing and need to make a jig. I have made a secondary dust port to eliminate most of the lower housing dust. Their [$] 14 inch bandsaw even has a second port. Having said all the negative things this is one very capable machine with all the bells and whistles. I absolutely would purchase it again.
The review in [...] didn't do this machine justice - I wonder if they even reviewed the same machine! It went together like a dream, adjusted easily, and the blade changing, which [...] said was cumbersome, took 35 seconds, start to finish. The first cut I made was to resaw some 6" wide oak - it cut like butter, smooth as a baby's bottom, and perfectly symetrical, from end to end. This is a great band saw.
very pleased with the bandsaw, unit very well designed and made, considering other Rikon tools
