No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The battery holds an adequate charge. This is perfect for light trim ups as you weed flower beds. Not suitable for heavy work. Plastic blades break easily. I made my own blades and the result was much better. I'm sure the company doesn't recommend it though. They should redesign the blades themselves for more durability.
