Super Recycler - Personal Pace 3-in-1 Mower

What put the Super Recycler at the top of its class?

Its Personal Place Self-Propel System, for one thing, which lets you mow at your own speed - up to 4 mph. Then there's the Super Recycler's patented cutting system that can easily shred even long, thick grass, leaving a stripe of precisely trimmed lawn in your path.

To these proven technologies we've added the convenience of a Blade Override System. We've also increased the range of cutting height, allowing you to set the blade from 1.25" to 4.25". And with the new 3-in-1 design of the Super Recycler's tough, rustproof aluminum deck, you can mulch, side discharge or rear bag. No tools required.

My wife got me this lawnmower. I thought it was too expensive and wanted to buy the Honda. I was really suprised at how easy and fast I got my yard cut! I can even use it without waking everyone in the neighborhood up - it is so quiet! My favorite feature is the auto adjustment to walking speed. My yard is uneven, and this made going from uphill to downhill easy!

I had a Toro Super recycler Model #20465 before this one. It was the best mower I've ever had. It was twelve years old and needed some serious carburator work and wasn't running well. I saw this one and decided it was time for a new mower. I have used it twice, and it is great. The lawn really looks good afterwards. When the mower arrived, the grass was starting to get rather high. I used it in the mulching configuration and it didn't even grunt. I am totally satisfied with this mower. Although I am a disabled Veteran with a limited income, I feel that it was money well spent. Charlie Spivey, Richmond Va.

Toro Convert

Pros:
Durable, Good Value, High Quality
Cons:
none whatsoever

With my quarter acre, relatively flat lawn, I was thinking two and a half hours to mow was rather ridiculous. After sharpening the blade and doing other tuneup stuff, the performance of the old Craftsman 6.75 hp self-propelled did not improve. I borrowed my neighbor's Toro, mostly as a test to see if my mower was a problem, or was it the way I mowed, or just what the problem was. Wow - that's all I can say. Using my neighbor's mower it took me an hour and a half to do the slightly damp lawn. [...] I settled on the SR4 20055. Today was its maiden voyage. One hour and fifteen minutes later and the lawn looks better than it ever has. No clumps, no chunks of unmowed grass, just lovely. This mower is at least 30 pounds lighter than my old Craftsman and much more maneuverable. I have a lot of trees, flower beds, edging, etc to go around and the Toro whipped right around everything. Switching from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive took a bit of getting used to, but no big deal. The Personal Pace feature also took a bit to get used to but I'm loving it now. It mulched wonderfully, wasn't as noisy as the Craftsman, the height was a snap to set and get the same for each wheel, and the handle sets up higher so I wasn't crippled over like an old woman when I finished.
