Operating Instructions

  1. Insert Roto Planter into drill with pointed tip away from drill. Tighten drill chuck securely.
  2. Hold the drill firmly with both hands. Place the drill tip of the Roto Planter straight down into ground where you wish to dig. Start drill slowly. Do not push too hard. Medium speed is adequate to operate the Roto Planter. Allow Roto Planter to drill its own hole. Dig down 2” – 3” then slowly pull out, allowing dirt to spin off. Repeat until desired depth is reached. Works best in damp soil. Caution: If you hit a rock, root or other object, you will have to relocate the hole. Roto Planter is not designed to dig through hard materials.

Not only work great for planting various stuff, also works well for mixing feeds (wild bird food and horse feed, for us)... but point does wear fast in rough soil, but works great in 'cleaned' soil.

This would work great in soil without rocks. It's very easy to use but, if you have rocky soil....forget it.

I Planted 300 tulip and Daffodil bulbs
By Countractor from Charlottesviille, VA on 2/18/2007
Pros:
Good Value
Cons:
no cons
Best Uses:
Great for planting
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The product was great for the price. The tip did wear down a little after 300 holes, but the auger has a lot of holes still left in it. Just the tip wore down, the auger blades were fine. The auger should also work great for loosening soil, especially hard spots or soft shale/sandstone.
