No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The lopper broke on using it for a green branch of the diameter permitted. Since no instructions were included, it may have been due to my not operatijn properly (nothing indicated how to engage the "gear" drive). The lopper was replaced by Hechinger without charge or return of item.
