Place Leak Alert anywhere there is a danger of flood or leaks, near water heaters, sinks, dishwashers, or sump pumps.
Leak Alert sounds a very loud alarm when it gets wet, and keeps sounding the alarm for up to 72 hours.

Testing it gave everyone a start. We will definitely be able to hear it, even though it's in the attic. Additionally, the first set of batteries were weak and the system let us know. I am very pleased with the performance thus far.
Develop a model thathas a warning sound at a lower about 4K cycles. Elderly lose the high end of their hearing first. I know, I am 83 and hearing cuts off around 4K.

I guess this is kind of like insurance, I hope I never find out for sure if it works well. However, I am glad I have it.
It is a simple and effective way to prevent the extensive damage and repairs that unnoticed leaks can cause. I had oredered it not knowing that our dishwasher drain hose had been leaking for some time. I wish I had known of such a thing sooner. It's been a month and the subfloor is still not completely dry. The model with the wire lead to the sensor lets you place the unit where it is easy to hear and change the batteries, but place the sensor in a difficult to reach area like behind a built in dishwasher. This one is great for under the sink.
The product is much bigger than the competition. You can't really place it under an appliance, and if you place it behind the washing machine, you can't push it back against the wall.
