This is the first vertical fan I've bought, so I can't compare it to others of its kind in terms of strength and the amount of air it moves. It is not as strong as some box fan type models I've owned, but it is definitely strong enough for a medium size room and has a lot of other advantages:

1. It is by far the quietest fan I've ever owned. I'm one of those folks who can hear the grass grow, but I can sleep right next to this fan on its highest setting without a problem at all.

2. It has a very small footprint and fits almost anywhere.

3. It can be used horizontally as well, which has a multitude of usages.

4. It has a bunch of extra features, such as the natural wind mode or the sleep mode, which uses the same varying strength blow pattern as the natural wind mode, but slows down to and remains at the lowest setting in 1/2 hour intervals. It also has an ionizer. While I personally don't care for any of those features, some users may really like them. It also has an off timer, which does come in handy.

5. The remote control is a nice touch, easy to use and quite responsive. It fits in a space on top of the fan for storage.

The only thing that is a bit of a bummer for me is that I can't hook the unit to a regular timer and have it come on at a certain time since it's digitally controlled, but that's what enables all these other features.

I wish it were just a tat stronger, but all in all its worth a five star rating.

I bought this fan to help dry out comercial carpeting after a small flood. It has been in constant use for over a month and did a great job. I have used the fan horizontally to "sweep" air over the carpeting but have also tried using the fan vertically and it does a great job. Best of all, it's space saving when used on end and is very quiet. I have not used the extra features altho they sound appealing.

i have had every brand imaginable of fans. I can honestly say that this is the best. It is so quiet that I have not had to adjust the volume of my tv while using the fan. The breeze is cool and natural. Very strong. No squeeking parts while oscillasting. Sturdy standing up as well as lying down. Lightweight. I could not be more pleased.
