idrive™ TorqueMaster® is engineered to work on Wayne-Dalton pinch-resistant steel doors equipped with TorqueMaster® counterbalance systems.

As the crowning addition to our complete garage door system, the idrive™ opener sets new standards for garage door safety, appearance, and technology.

By mounting idrive™ on the wall above your door, we're able to eliminate the belts, chain, screw drive, and track that clutter your garage ceiling. That mean less noise and vibration are transferred to living areas above the garage. According to independent tests, idrive™ is quieter than any chain drive opener you can buy.

Better By Design

  • The idrive™ unit is not mounted to the ceiling, so it doesn't transmit noise and vibration directly to any room above. Since no chains or screw drives are utilized, quiet reaches a whole new level as many of the mechanical parts that create noise on traditional openers are eliminated.
  • Our five-function wireless wall station controls door open-close, light on-off, programmable pet opening, 10-second closing safety delay and transmitter program button. Includes low-battery indicator. Because of its wireless design, it can be located anywhere in the garage. For more convenience, install two or more.
  • With one push of the button, your door will open to a pre-selected height between 6" and 30", allowing pets to easily move in and out. This feature is also beneficial for garage ventilation.
  • Energy efficient security light plugs into any electrical outlet within line-of-sight of the opener. Automatically lights with opener activation and stays on five minutes for safer, easier night entry into the garage and home. Also operates manually from wall station without having to activate the opener.
  • The 3-button remote-control transmitter activates up to six different doors or devices. Compact and convenient. Transmitter mounts on visor or attaches to keychain.
  • The wireless, keyless entrypad opens your garage door from the outside by PIN-code. It allows home access for kids without latch keys to forget or lose.
  • Homelink compatible, which is an integrated transceiver (a transmitter and receiver) that can be programmed to activate radio frequency (RF) devices such as garage doors. It is available on over 100 different vehicles.
  • Maximum Convenience
    • Elimination of photo eyes - When idrive™ is used with a pinch-resistant door, photo eyes are not required by federal law. This is because idrive™ technology in effect changes the entire door into a reversing mechanism so that no matter what part of the door is obstructed, it will reverse. It is too easy for photo eyes to become misaligned or damaged, thus rendering their safety feature useless. That can be dangerous.
    • Streamlined Design - Since the unit is mounted directly to the wall above the door, there is no unsightly rail stretched across your garage. Also, if your garage has ceiling beam support interference, you won't have to cut ceiling joists to attach the rail, as in the case with traditional openers.
    • Soft Start/Soft Stop Control - Rarely found in other openers, this control smoothly opens the door as it starts, and gently lowers the door as it closes. This feature greatly decreases wear and tear on the door, and eliminates noises due to jolting starts and closes.
    • Automatic Travel Limit - The system will automatically compensate for changes in temperature and floor level variations to allow the door to seal properly. This eliminates having to adjust the door yourself.
  • Maximum Security
    • Secure Locking - The idrive™ opener makes forced entry nearly impossible as it has an automatic door lock. At the end of every door close cycle, the motor rotates down into a locked position on the garage door. If an attempt is made to lift the door, its weight causes an out-of-balance condition to the springs, rotating the motor even tighter against the door.
    • Rolling Access Codes - The idrive™ opener uses sophisticated rolling code technology to prevent code stealing. Every time you operate your opener, it resets the access code. With literally billions of combinations, it is virtually impossible for a thief to steal your code and break into your home with a code-grabbing device.
    • Energy-Efficient Security Light - Automatically lights when the opener is activated. Stays on for five minutes for safer, easier entry into the garage and home. It can also be turned on independently of the opener itself for lighting convenience.
  • Maximum Safety
    • UL Listed - Wayne-Dalton is the first and only Manufacturer to earn the UL 1998 Listing Mark for garage door openers.
    • Integrated Operating System - The opener does not exert a driving force on the door to close it, as do traditional openers. Instead, it actually senses any unusual force as the door moves. This highly-sensitive design creates a system that provides the maximum in garage door safety, thereby helping to avoid injury to family, friends, pets, or damage to vehicles.
    • Door Closing Delay Button - Gives the user 10 seconds to walk out the garage safely before the door starts to close.
    • Active Door Position Sensing Capability - Constantly monitors position of moving door in case a quick reversal is necessary.
    • Electronic Systems Monitoring - Automatically monitors for operating malfunctions, alerts homeowner with a flashing light.

This is the second opener I have had. I had nothing but problems with the first. There was a recall on the first opener. The second was installed by a professional garage door installer and still it will not work properly. It seems to have a mind of it's own, opening only a fraction at times and/or not closing on the first try. Worked well for only 2 to 3 months..
I would not recommend this to anyone. If your looking for quiet in an opener this is it however stick with a conventional opener which will be more reliable.

The iDrive is a super opener. It does install different than any other garage door opener. You have to use a Wayne Dalton door with this unit , The are no springs or long cables or pulleys with this. Its all hidden in a tube. The opener mounts above the door and not in the middle of the garage. With the door open you cant even see it. It has gotten some bad reviews and maybe there were some bad units. This is my second but only due to a lighting strike that took out more than the opener. The first one took a while to figure out how to install since I was replacing my door as well. The second one went on in just an hour. The garage door must be installed right or this opener will have some trouble with it. I have had no trouble with this unit and I installed it my self. The way the unit mounts above the door makes it super quiet during operation, and its smooth starts and great extra features make it one of the coolest openers around. I have a small 1 car garage and the extra headroom just makes the garage feel bigger not having a hugh opener hanging down and big springs or a track is great.

This has to be one of the most promising designs in openers. Fewer moving parts and extremely quiet. No more big ugly drive units hanging from the ceiling. While programming the door can be challenging, it is worth the effort. Great securuty feature prevents door from being pryed open.
