You want to drain your oil and need a pan low enough to fit under the engine. This pan does, but is so shallow that the draining oil may splash over the edge and make the mess you are seeking to avoid. Also, the screw in pan plug does not seem to be of quality and may be the point of future failure.It does carry oil safely and for [$] you get what you pay for.
I don't know if this pan will be handed down to my grandchildren when I pass on - It's not the most hefty piece of equipment I own.
Nevertheless, the price is good and if the one I own breaks up on me, I'll simply buy a new one.
