Good gun...bad hose design

I think it's a great gun...Lincoln is by far the best grease gun I have used in 27 years of operation and maintenance of heavy equipment. Two thing that needs to be changed are the swivel tip for the coupling. I couldn't get the coupler off with box wrenches, vice grips, or pipe wrenches. The factory had it on too tight. So I went to get another hose and coupling, but this hose is not interchangeable with other grease guns. [$] dollars online just for the hose. Lincoln said they would replace the hose and coupling free of charge 3 weeks ago, but I still haven't received them yet.
